Trudi & Gail Here At Last

Long at last our friends arrived from North Bay.
They were pretty tired but we managed to get some sightseeing in the next day.

Tides in at La Caleta beach from our view at the castle.

This wee parakeet is hiding from me in his nest.

Castillo de Santa Catalina lies right on the Atlantic Ocean in Cadiz.
As Cadiz was unprotected and attacked by the Anglo-Dutch in 1596 they decided to build this fortress.

It is actually more of a fortress than castle.  Inside there are some exhibits.  There was actually a Harper's Magazine exhibit of clothing and fashion items.
The chapel (in the background) was built in the 16th century.  It still has the original flooring.
The plan of this fortress is in a star-shaped.

This our most excellent 'Salmon' fisherman/butcher.  Twice he has prepared salmon filets from us and they have been delicious.

Brave souls checking out the fish market in Cadiz.
