Climbing the Gorge Wall in Ronda, Spain

As I was photographing the scenery I noticed little dots within the tree across the gorge.  I zoomed in closer and oh my gosh....it's climbers!!
On a vertical line there are wire frame 'ladder' steps to climb up the wall of the gorge.
Seriously.

You wear climbing equipment and you are tethered to a rope, so if you should slip, you are not falling all the way down.
Good to know.

There they are.  It looks scary...but exciting too.

It was a very busy spot with the climbers.  I would expect on such a day, if you started up, there was only one way to go.  No changing your mind....."get going."

You could hear cheering every time someone made it to the top!

Below is Debbie on that same precarious edge that the climbers are ascending to!!!  Yikes.

The photo above is the zoomed in shot of the precarious landing that visitors can climb down and take photos.  There is nothing between you and the edge....LD did it.  I am serious.
Below, that same area can be seen on the zoomed out shot I took.  Right above the top dark green tree line above the sheer rock face in the center of this photo.

Can you see from zoomed out a tiny black dot almost smack dab in the center of this photo below, int's a climber?
That is a LONG way up......"don't look down."
It is definitely not for the faint of heart.
Maybe next time?
