This empty parking lot where LD is standing taking a photo is actually the site of Hitler's Bunker, 'Fuhrerbunker.'
As the Allies advanced on Berlin, Hitler and his staff hid in the bunker.
This is were he and his wife, Edith Braun, committed suicide.
A week later the war was over.
Can't leave Berlin on a dark note.....
So here's our last dessert (that we shared) in Berlin, in a great restaurant just down the street from our hostel.
Apple Strudel with ice cream, vanilla sauce and fruit.
