A surprise when we arrived at the Clock Museum, it is surrounded by a very beautiful park.
We had half an hour....before the tour...
Got my camera....I'm heading in!
Above is the washrooms? Gorgeous.
Ticket shop is below...love the vines.
This was our first sighting of the White Storks.
Over 50 pairs live in Jerez.
Only a few minutes until our tour.....we gotta go!!
Pondering life before our tour of a Clock Museum in Jerez begins.
We didn't know it ahead of the tour, but we were the only two people on the english tour...private tours just like the Royal Family.
"I'll have my tea in the garden Carsen."
All of the clocks below are French. Either Louis XIV to Napoleon and post.
Incredibly displayed.
This building that houses the Museum was a palace.
Our lovely guide referred to this type of clock as a 'Chimney' clock? Because it has three parts.
We actually stood in the hall way with these clocks when they all struck noon! What a cool experience that was.....tings, pings, bongs, bird calls, etc.
I did manage to video tape for a minute but it wasn't as impressive as in person.
Our guide shared with us that the clock below is quite a puzzle. No one knows how it actually works? There is also no one who can fix it alive today.
Hmmmm....
As this was once a palace there is a small chapel still maintained here.....
.....and an incredible, and very old tapestry, of King Solomon court.
We now are in the English clock display....quite a bit different than the French.
(Below) This clocks numbers are horizontal?
Very neat.
One of the most valuable and priceless pieces here is a clock that belonged to Queen Victoria.
Incredible gold face that is unjustly shown in this photo.
A very interesting museum....glad Deb suggested it.
She loves watches....and has many....so this was a perfect fit.
