The Andalusian Horses in Jerez, Spain

Chocked full, ornamental trees like the one above line the streets of Jerez, Spain.
I say, decorative, you cannot eat these oranges....

On our very first trip to Jerez, just about a half hour by train from Cadiz, Gail and Trudi were visiting.  Gail was excited and keen to see the Andalusian Horses that were in Jerez.  Also Trudi wanted to try the sherry.....maybe a tour.....guess she didn't hear what happened to Debbie...lol.

Flower Markets in full bloom in November.

Decorations waiting for December 1st.....

We accidentally came upon a market and popped in to see what was there.

The veggies and fruit are huge in Spain.  Fresh and you can taste the difference.

World Renowned for their production of Sherry....barrels welcoming visitors.

I love the look of old and new side by side.
A very old tower and a modern cafe.....

"What are those two looking at?"

We are here!!!
The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation.
The horses are here!!!!

In Cadiz, we were able to purchase our tickets for the horse show from the kiosk in the Plaza de San Juan de Dios.  Our seats were also reserved and we just picked up our tickets at the gate in Jerez.  Easy Peasy.
Below is where the Horse Show is located.
Unfortunately no photos allowed once the show starts....poop.

.....And here they are before their show.
These Andalusian horses have been in Jerez for centuries.
Magnificent giants.
This school was founded in 1973.

On the grounds of the school, flowers are meticulously maintained as is the entire property.
Gorgeous.

A close up of my new BFF.  Warming up with his peeps he did get a wee bit closer than I am comfortable with.  But he did seem gentle.

There are also carriage rides available at the gate.

Three of my favourite girls.

This wild child had a lot of spunk.  Kicking and throwing his head around while warming up...yikes.

The Palacio Duque de Abrantes below.
A historic 19th century palace which you can visit.

The interior of the horse show auditorium.
They were incredible.  About an hour and a half with a 15 minute intermission.....I could have stayed for a lot longer as it was fantastic.
Jerez is well known for it's 'dancing horses.'

The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (in Spanish, Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre) is an institution in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, devoted to conserving the ancestral abilities of the Andalusian horse, maintaining the classical traditions of Spanish baroque horsemanship, preparing horses and riders for international dressage competitions, and providing education in all aspects of horsemanship, coach driving, blacksmithing, the care and breeding of horses, saddlery, and the manufacture and care of horse harness.  - from their website.

As we were unable to take photos, these three pictures below are from the Internet and show what these amazing horses are able to do.

Trudi found a new friend in his own little pen.

I can't get over how brilliant everything looks, I am referring to the flowers and trees.
....and this is winter?

That was amazing.
Off to other adventures in Jerez.
