A Mosque in Cadiz?

Even though we have been literally living in Cadiz for almost two months, we can still get lost because the maps are not exact.
We are trying to find a very, very old church that lies below the Cadiz Cathedral.  While we were on the top of the Cathedral, we could see a building, that had a interesting roof design, but also a minaret...or mosque tower for the 'call to prayer.'

The interior of this magnificent church.
The Parraoquia de Santa Cruz, or The Church of Santa Cruz.
This church is built on the site of an ancient Arab Mosque dating back to the 12th century.

An incredibly old statue still hangs in this church.

Destroyed a few times, the church that now resides on this spot was rebuilt in the 16th century.

The view from the Cadiz Cathedral shows interesting painting of the steeple and.....

....what appears to be a minaret on the right?
Now we know the rest of the story.
