Christmas Is Here in Cadiz!!!

The Church of San Antonio is the backdrop of the Christmas Market in Cadiz.  The entire Plaza is filled with fun and festive things to do.
For instance....an ice rink?
The people of Cadiz are putting on skates and indeed skating on manmade ice.  Incredible.

A train is circling the plaza with squealing, excited children and adults.

.....a toboggan run?

Here it is and there they go!
How amazing!

We have been waiting for weeks for the Christmas Market to open.....and here it is.
Each little wooden booth offers treats to eat, to purchase, items to buy, leather, jewelry, figurines....

Almost all are handmade by artisans of Cadiz.
We bought one of these fridge magnets with a city scape of Cadiz carved on it.

Deb observed last night that there are no balconies with lights or decorations anywhere in the city?
But this entire building, which is another backdrop of the Christmas Market, has the same coloured lights on them.
Beautiful.

This photo was taken moments after the countdown to the lighting of the unique and impressive Christmas Tree.

The main thoroughfares of the city of Cadiz have Christmas decorations hanging.
Gorgeous.

We purchased a few of the Spanish traditional cookies to try from one of the vendors.
I have to say...I love them all.

Large, small, I LOVE Christmas Markets.  It isn't about what is there....it's about how I feel when I'm there.  Grateful comes first to mind.
I am so grateful for those who put these events together to make people smile, laugh, and enjoy the season.
Thank you.

Walking a little farther, seeing more lights near the Post Office.
An entire tree of lights.

The Flower Market with tons of poinsettias to purchase and these amazing lights.

Another plaza close to the city core......

Happy Holidays

......and there will be more to come....as there are many more plazas we haven't checked yet.
